Since I am a fellow oily skin haver, today’s post is all about makeup products for oily skin that will help you achieve the perfect makeup look despite the extra shine. These products are some of my favorite to create looks with and don’t slip and fade throughout the day. To pick out the right makeup products, avoid anything with oil since that will only make your face look shinier.
No matter the season, those with oily skin will always know the pain of shiny skin. As much as we would love to have flawless matte skin, that’s not always the case. Oily skin is your skin’s oil production centers overreacting and creating too much oil. This happens when your skin is either dehydrated or needs more moisture, as opposite as that may sound.
The best makeup products for oily skin can moisturize, but you want a fair balance of mattifying ingredients to even out texture and soak up the extra moisture. Before you begin on your makeup products, you want to ensure you’ve done your skincare routine to get your skin prepped and ready to go. Take a peek at my post about beauty products under $20 for some budget-friendly products.
Makeup Products For Oily Skin
Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Creme & Powder Blush Duo– When I first picked up this item, I thought it was cool to get two blushes in one. However, I later realized how amazing this is for oily skin users. On TikTok, I learned that you can apply cream blush first and ‘set’ your blush with the powdered version, almost like what you do with your foundation. Setting your blush helps prevent it from sliding or fading throughout the day and, honestly, has been a game-changing trick for me.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation – After trying MANY foundations, I have finally found one I love and am obsessed with. This Estee Lauder foundation is genuinely unique, and for good reason: it’s such a traditional product. At first, I felt like this would be too geared to mature skin, but honestly, my skin feels so good with this foundation, and I don’t think I’ll try another one after this.
Merit Flush Balm Cream Blush – I’m not always fond of cream blushes because they can slip throughout the day. These Merit blushes are pigmented, and their design lets you apply them however you want. I use a blush brush, but I’ve always seen some people apply it directly onto their cheeks. I think they’re beautiful colors that are highly pigmented, which means they will last longer on oily skin throughout the day.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder– If you have oily skin, you can’t survive without a good setting powder. A good product will pack in the makeup, soak up your oil, and shine throughout the day. I can’t explain how vital setting powder is for a makeup routine for someone with oily skin. The Charlotte Tilbury setting powder is delicate and rich. They’re luxurious on touch and stay on all day.
ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starr Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder– In this roundup of makeup products for oily skin, it’s necessary to have two setting powders listed. While I don’t have this setting powder, I can vouch that it’s one of the most highly recommended products I’ve encountered. Since it was reported that Beyonce uses this product, it’s been everywhere. And honestly, if Beyonce can survive show after show and still look flawless, this product must be magical.
Dior Backstage Concealer– Picking out concealer is very hard when you have oily skin because the wrong product will slip and crease and completely get ruined after a few hours. The Dior concealer is higher in price, but it’s worth it. I haven’t had trouble tucking with this product, and with a good setting powder, it doesn’t budge throughout the day.
Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick– We can’t forget our contour products in this list. When choosing the right contour products, I found it challenging to find something that wasn’t too creamy for my oily skin. The Fenty Beauty sticks are known for being high quality, and those with oily skin will find that they stay on the whole day, and they’re a top-tier beauty product.
NARS Cosmetics Radiant Creamy Concealer– You can’t talk about makeup products for oily skin items without mentioning the beast of them all. The Nars concealer is so creamy and good at coverage it’s perfect for anyone looking to conceal acne or discoloration. Again, like the Dior Concealer, with a good setting powder, this product will not budge.
