Briogeo’s Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask – $15, sephora.com
Things like a deep conditioning hair mask might seem excessive, but they make all the difference in creating soft and smooth hair. You don’t need to splurge on a deep conditioning mask since it’s only used once a week. As well, certain hair types might use it even less. Briogeo’s hair collection is by far some of my favorite products on the market. They’re simple products that do the trick, and they usually have mini sizes for all of their products that fall below the $20 mark.
Wooden Scalp Massager, $15, sephora.com

You might be wondering why I would include something as random as a scalp massager in this haircare products under $20 list, but honestly, once you try it, you’ll never go without it. If not for the stimulation it gives your scalp, which helps with hair growth, it feels bloody good on your scalp. A few minutes in the shower with this tool, and I promise you your scalp will thank you for it.
Color Wow’s Pop + Lock Frizz Control + Glossing Serum, $20, Sephora.com
After all the hard work in creating an amazing hair design, you need to give your locks some extra shine. Color Wow has some interesting products that give your hair an extra boost to make them look even more shiny. This glossing serum is a favorite because it really does help your hair shine but doesn’t feel overly tacky or stick on your hair. For $20, you can get shiny hair that looks healthy and luscious.
Oribe’s Straight Away Smoothing Blowout Hair Cream, $18, sephora.com
Isn’t amazing that in this haircare products under $20 list, we also get a specialized product from a high-end brand?! If you ever want to splurge on a hair product, Oribe is one of the best in the biz. Their smoothing blowout hair cream does exactly what its title says, smoothen your hair for the perfect blowout. Get shiny and smooth hair for a fraction of the price of heading to a salon.
Pattern by Tracee Ellis Ross’ Shower Detangling Brush, $17, sephora.com
Everyone needs a good detangling brush. No matter your hair type, a detangling brush will free your hair from tangles and knots. The fewer tangles in your hair, the less stress and breakage your strands will go through. This detangling brush can hang in your shower and is a simple step to add after your conditioner. The difference this step will make will help defeat split ends and brittle hair.
Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree Special Shampoo, $18, ulta.com
We love to see haircare products under $20 that target problematic issues like dandruff. If you have oily hair, you probably also suffer from dandruff. One of the best ingredients to solve dandruff is tea tree oil. This soothes an irritated scalp and gives it a major refresh. For the amount of product you get, this tea tree shampoo has to be high on your list. Say no to dandruff and please grab yourself this shampoo.
Eva Nyc’s Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer, $13, ulta.com
A long time ago, Eva Nyc was so kind to send me a few of their products to try and test out. That’s where I found this Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer that smooths and protects the hair before using heat on it. Along with a bunch of other features, this primer is a one-stop shop for your hair. If you tend to forget a step (honestly, same), this product basically fulfills the basic needs to keep your hair healthy and looking gorgeous in one bottle.
Sun Bum’s Sunscreen Scalp Spray SPF 30, $17.49, ulta.com
Did you know that you could also suffer from sunburns and sun damage on your scalp? We all know that sunscreen is vital for your skin to protect it against the rays, but your scalp also needs the same amount of coverage and attention. Sun Bum’s scalp sunscreen helps to give you that coverage for less than $20, making it honestly one of the most important products on this haircare products under $20 roundup.
Klorane’s Ultra-Gentle Dry Shampoo with Goat Milk, $20, ulta.com
We couldn’t list haircare products under $20 and NOT include a dry shampoo! If you take anything from this list, it’s the quality dry shampoo isn’t always the most expensive one. Take this from someone who has tried countless dry shampoos only to go back to the ones that were on the lower side. Quality dry shampoo comes down to coverage, how the product feels, and if there’s any white cast left behind. This Klorane dry shampoo was one of the first that I tried, and is always a safe bet for me.
L’Oreal’s Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray, $14.99, ulta.com
Any and all haircare routines should include good hairspray. Although there are plenty, many of them have an aggressively strong scent that makes it almost impossible to wear daily. This L’Oreal hairspray is one of the few that I’ve seen that is unscented but still has a very strong hold. L’Oreal is one of those safe and true brands you can always rely on for quality results. They aren’t magnificent but they’ll do the job and for a fraction of the price.
